BELLINGHAM- Clement Brisson, 88, of Bellingham, MA, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 2, 2013 with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Sylvia J. (Gabrielson) Brisson deceased on July 21, 2009. They were married in November of 1947 and together for 61 years of love and happiness.
Born in Woonsocket, RI on June 2, 1925, Clement was the son of the late Alfred and Rose Alba (Laliberte) Brisson.
He was the loving father of Beverly L. Sherrill of Bellingham, MA, William Brisson and his wife, Jane of Hopkinton, MA, and Pastor Stephen Brisson and his wife, Sarah of Simsbury, CT. He leaves his cherished six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Edward Brisson and his wife, Claire of Narragansett, RI, Clemence Cadoret and her husband, Raymond of Bellingham, MA, Georgette Kokolski Chaput of Florida, Lucille Picard of East Bridgewater, MA and the late Robert, Roland, Gerry, Noe and Marcel Brisson, Rachel Frappier and Lauretta Milano.
A resident of Bellingham since 1935 formerly of Woonsocket, Mr. Brisson was a salesman for Marcoux Chevrolet and Normandin Chevrolet for 35 years until retiring. In the late 1950s and early 1960s he also worked part-time at the Bellingham Drive-In operating the projector and cooking in the concession stand. After retiring, he worked with his son, William, doing general contracting and also managed Clem's Coffee Shop in Bellingham. He was a member of the Friendly 30 Club and the VFW of Forestdale, RI. He was a communicant of the former Assumption Church and St. Blaise Church.
Clement served in the United States Marine Corps for three years in the South Pacific during World War II. He attained the rank of Corporal as a Field Artillery Crewman.
Funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 6th at 8:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00AM at St. Blaise Church, 1158 So. Main St., Bellingham. Interment with Military Honors will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are on Tuesday, November 5th from 5 to8PM at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Clement made to St. Blaise Church, 1158 So. Main St., Bellingham, MA 02019 or VNA Care Network & Hospice, 333 Turnpike Road, Southborough, MA 01772 would be appreciated.
