Joseph Camille Parenteau
BELLINGHAM- Joseph Camille Parenteau, 81, of Bellingham, MA, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 51 years of Lucille L. (Forcier) Parenteau.
Born in Woonsocket, RI on October 25, 1931, he was the son of the late Jean Baptiste and Sarah (Cardin) Parenteau.
He was the loving father of Denise Parenteau of Woonsocket, RI, Lucie Arsenault and her husband, Wayne of Blackstone, MA, Elaine Zifcak and her husband, Michael of Pascoag, RI and Emily Parenteau of Woonsocket, RI, and leaves his cherished grandchildren Edward, Charlotte and Daniel Arsenault. He was the brother of Aline Cargill of Apache Junction, AZ, and the late Claire Bousquet and John J.B. Parenteau. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
A resident of Bellingham for over 40 years formerly of Woonsocket, he worked as a valve tester at Crosby Valve & Gage in Wrentham, MA for 17 years until retiring in 1996, and previously worked at Kelek Company in Norwood, MA for 17 years.
Mr. Parenteau was a United States Army Korean War Veteran attaining the rank of Sergeant with the 10th Engineers of the 3rd Infantry Division, and received the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, and the United Nations Service Medal.
He was a communicant of All Saints Church and the former Assumption Church. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking and the many trips he and Lucille took with the Royal Travelers. Devoted to his family, he will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Monday, August 26th at 9:30AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM at All Saints Church, Rathbun St., Woonsocket, RI. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham.
Visiting time from 9:30 to 10:30AM at the funeral home prior to Mass. In lieu of flowers a donation to your local Blood Bank would be appreciated.
