Back bear spotted in North Smithfield

NORTH SMITHFIELD — A large black bear was seen in the area of Old Oxford Road, Pound Hill Road and Stoney Drive at around 8 p.m. Friday, according to local police.
Residents are advised to use caution during outdoor events and are urged not to approach or attempt to feed the bear. Residents can call DEM at 401-222-3070 with any reports of sightings.
