WOONSOCKET- Rita Jeannette Lamoureux, 87, resident of Woonsocket, RI, died March 12, 2013, at the Oakland Grove Health Center in Woonsocket, RI.
She was the wife of the late Paul Lamoureux.
Rita was born March 2, 1926 in North Smithfield, RI, a daughter of the late Delphis & Emma Jane (Gagnon) Bacon.
She worked for the former Kenyon Dye Works in Kenyon, RI. She was a resident of the Waterview Apartments in Woonsocket, RI. She previously lived in Blackstone, MA, Kenyon, RI, New Port Richey, FL, & N. Smithfield, RI. She was a volunteer at Hospice St. Antoine and was a member of the Deerfield Tenants Association.
She is survived by her son, Gerald A. Lamoureux and his wife Betty Laverdiere-Lamoureux of North Smithfield and her daughter, Susan Marie Kneeland of Worcester MA, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Victor, Louis and Emile Bacon, sisters, Yvonne Proulx, Helen Ouillette, and Irene Millette.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013, at 10am in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Ave., Woonsocket, RI, the family will be there at 9:30am for those attending that would like to offer their condolences. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery in Manville. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Beacon Hospice Care, 529 Main Street, Suite 101, Charlestown, MA 02129. Arrangements are entrusted to the Egidio DiPardo & Sons Funeral Home, 75 Harris Ave., Woonsocket, RI.
