MANVILLE- Richard W. Landry, 75, of Manville, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 16, 2013 in his home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine (Malo) Landry to whom he was married for 53 years. Born in Dexter, ME, he was the son of the late Waldo and Doris (Barrie).
Dick was a 1955 graduate of Mt. St. Charles Academy, served in the Naval Reserve for 10 years and was employed by New England Instrument, Robertshaw Controls, Invensys and Honeywell for 33 years. He was a communicant of St. James Church, Manville. Dick was a lifetime member of the Albion Social Club and enjoyed working in his yard, golfing, crossword puzzles, playing cards and was an avid football fan, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family at the pool.
He was the loving father to Cheryl A. Correia and her husband Eric of Woonsocket, James M. Landry and his wife Maureen of Seekonk, MA and Christine P. Riel and her husband Richard of Woonsocket. He also leaves his grandchildren, Emily, Sarah, Alex, Joshua and Christina Correia, Abigail Landry, Bethany Grenier and her husband Charles and Derek and Michael Riel; three brothers, Bertrand Landry of North Port, FL, Gilbert Landry of Oakland, Joel Landry of Woonsocket; his sister, Patricia Dufresne of Charlotte, NC; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his grandson, Sean Correia.
His funeral will be held Thursday, February 21, 2013 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. James Church, 33 Division St., Manville. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-7 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 No. Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
