WOONSOCKET- Claire (Demers) Lanctot, 79, of Woonsocket, died February 8, 2013, after a long illness.
Born in Woonsocket to Edgar and Rosita (Brunette) Demers, Claire was married to the late former mayor Francis L. Lanctot for fifty-two years.
A communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Claire was a homemaker, a founding member of the Rosewood Pitch League and a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox.
She is survived by her children, Cathy Lanctot and her husband Richard Andrews of Delaware; Nancy Lanctot and her husband John Daly of North Carolina; Marc Lanctot and his wife Laura Lyverse of Massachusetts; Diane Lanctot of Rhode Island; Neil Lanctot of Pennsylvania, and grandchildren Peter and Amy Andrews; Peter, Elizabeth and Tim McQuaid; and Summer Daly. She was predeceased by her daughter Carol McQuaid. She is also survived by her brothers, Roger Demers of Rhode Island, Gerald Demers of California, and Richard Demers of Georgia, and a sister, Jeanne Link of New Hampshire. She was predeceased by her brother Robert Demers of Virginia.
Private funeral services are under the direction of Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St.,Woonsocket, RI.
