Police charge 3 men with breaking and entering

December 7, 2012

WOONSOCKET – Three men got caught breaking into a house Tuesday after they mistakenly believed no one was home after ringing the doorbell.
The downstairs tenant of the two-family at 387 Park Place was indeed home, however; he simply didn’t answer the doorbell because he didn’t recognize the individual ringing it, he told police.
Moments later, the tenant saw two men scaling the balcony to the second story of the home and he heard their footsteps after they allegedly forced their way in through a window.
His call to the police led to the arrest of Thomas Robert Mason, 24, Aaron Joseph Kwandrank, 27, and Keith Elliot Robinson, 31, all of Woonsocket, at about 10:30 a.m.
Mason and Robinson were charged with one count each of breaking and entering into a dwelling without consent and, conspiracy, while Kwandrank was charged only with conspiracy.
Several police cruisers were dispatched to 387 Park Place after police received the tenant’s report.
Mason was arrested as he walked briskly away from the house, while the other two suspects attempted to escape in a red SUV, according to reports.
Meanwhile, police cruisers boxed in the SUV on a nearby street, forcing it to stop. Robinson was driving, while Kwandrank, who had been seen by police running toward the vehicle moments earlier, was in the passenger seat.
The downstairs tenant who called the police later identified Mason as the man who had been ringing his doorbell, as well as one of the other suspects.
Nothing was taken from the second-story apartment. Police said the tenant who was not at home was Mark A. Gosselin.
