iPhone video helps police piece together bottle attack

WOONSOCKET — An iPhone video helped police piece together the details of a bloody attack outside an all-night diner in East Woonsocket Saturday that left one man seriously injured.
Police said Leo Larocque, 24, of North Attleboro, suffered a deep laceration of the eye when one of his assailants bashed him in the face with an empty tequila bottle outside Patriots Diner shortly before 5 a.m.
Oswald Torres, 20, and Gabriel Alvarez, 21, both of Woonsocket, were charged with one count each of felony assault with a dangerous weapon, disorderly conduct and vandalism. Torres was also charged with obstructing police and possession of crack cocaine.
