Panel awards sewer plant contract

WOONSOCKET — The Budget Commission last night awarded a Denver, Colo.-based company a contract to build a new $36.6 million wastewater treatment plant designed to comply with more restrictive anti-pollution regulations.
CH2M Hill was one of three bidders for the project, including United Water and Veolia Inc., the current operator of the regional plant on Cumberland Hill Road.
