BELLINGHAM- James T. "Jim" Daniel, 60, of Bellingham, MA passed away at home on Friday, September 2, 2011 with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 30 years of Debra (Niadna) Daniel.
Born in Pawtucket, RI on May 28, 1951, he was the son of John and Simonne (Tancrede) Daniel of St. Petersburg, FL.
He was the loving father of Dereck Daniel of Bellingham, MA, Tanya Russell and her husband Eric of Whitinsville, MA, and Sadie Crane of Falmouth, MA; and leaves his cherished grandchildren, Kaylee and Jacob Defoe, Austin Lee, Lucas Warburton and Skylar Nydam. He was the brother of John Daniel and his wife Elizabeth of Bangor, ME, Jean Zelano and her husband Rick of Tampa, FL, Joann Lemoine and her husband Raymond of Bellingham, MA, and Joan Leclaire Hitland and her husband Duff of Newport, NH.
A longtime resident of Bellingham where he was raised on Lake Hiawatha and attended Bellingham Schools, and he also had resided in Uxbridge, MA. He was a carpenter working in construction and worked in maintenance for the Cumberland, RI School Department. He enjoyed trips to Foxwoods, playing poker, pool, horseshoes, swimming and challenging his grandson Jacob in playing monopoly, family cookouts and playing with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening and was an avid Red Sox and NE Patriots fan. Jim had a very big heart and helped everyone. Devoted to his family and friends, he will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Saturday, September 17, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30AM at St. Blaise Church, 1158 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations to the James T. Daniel Memorial Fund, c/o UniBank, 10 Cheney St., Blackstone, MA 01504 would be appreciated.
