WOONSOCKET- Diane L. (Lavallee) Parenteau, 56, of Seventh Ave., died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. She was the wife of Rene G. Parenteau, whom she married October 5, 2002.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Maurice R. and Lillian C. (Dextraze) Lavallee.
Mrs. Parenteau worked thirty-one years for The Holiday Retirement Home, Manville. She enjoyed bicycling, taking photographs and gardening.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a stepson, Kevin Parenteau of Cumberland, a stepdaughter, Lauren Ackley of Manville, a granddaughter, Ella Ackley and two brothers, Roger Lavallee of Warwick and Robert Lavallee of Woonsocket.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 9AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in Holy Family Church, So. Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville. Calling hours are Friday from 5-8PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Southern New England Regional Cancer Center, 115 Cass Avenue #1, Woonsocket, RI 02895.
