John F. Howard

GLOCESTER- Howard, John F., 83, a lifelong resident of Harmony, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy (Hirst) Howard.
Born in Harmony, he was a son of the late Arthur W. and Nellie (Cook) Howard.
Mr. Howard was a Police Officer and former Deputy Chief of Police in Glocester during 1960-1970's; for 27 years he worked at the former Greenville Finishing Co. and bowled on the company team at the former Hearthside Lanes. He worked for the department of transportation for the State of RI and the town of Glocester, he also worked at DeBlois Oil and then worked as a carpenter for Hopkins Builders until retirement; he was a member of the Victory Sportsmans Club.
Besides his wife, he was the father of, John F. Howard, Jr., Joyce A. Hanosky, Daniel D. Howard, Donna L. Brissette and the late Ronald P. and Arthur R. Howard; brother of Lois DiVincenzo, Walter, Harvey, Jason "Jake", Willard "Pappy" Howard and the late Arthur Howard, Jr., Ethel Bishop, Bessie Weidele, Beverly Steere, Richard Howard and Nellie Houghton. He was the loving grandfather of Michele, Ronald, Tina, Sarah and Nathan; great grandfather of 4.
Visitation in the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Ave. (Rte.44) Greenville, Saturday, January 15, 2011 from 2-4PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 4PM.
