City woman indicted on arson charge

July 2, 2014

WOONSOCKET – A Providence County grand jury Wednesday indicted a city woman who allegedly set fire to her boyfriend’s home after discovering he was having an affair.

Corrine Latraverse, 30, of 26 Monty Ave., is facing one count of first-degree arson.

Latraverse is accused of setting fire to the home she shared with her longtime boyfriend and their three children on March 15. The house – 26-28 Monty Ave. – has since been razed.
Police say she doused a hallway with gasoline and set fire to the house while her children were outside and her boyfriend was at work. A cat perished in the fire, two firefighters were injured putting it out, and Latraverse herself suffered minor burns when it started.
