Power restored to 60 city street lights

WOONSOCKET – It wasn’t Christmas, but it sure felt like a celebration when utility crews started flipping on street lights on Helene Rizoli’s street Wednesday night.

Residents came out of their houses clapping and cheering, and one even hugged Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt, who was on hand to watch the National Grid bucket trucks do their work.

“It did feel good,” said a smiling Baldelli-Hunt, who had made turning the street lights back on one of her most oft-repeated campaign promises.
