WOONSOCKET- James (Jimmy) Allen, 89, formerly of River St. died Saturday November 30, 2013 in Trinity Health Center, with his family by his side. He was the husband of the late Odessa (Wilson) Allen.
Born in Newberry, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Francis Allen.
Jimmy was employed at the Shipyard, Uniroyal, Foxboro Racetrack, and Ocean State Finishing until his retirement.
Jimmy was well liked by all who knew him; He loved his family and enjoyed playing cards at the café.
He was a member of the Tyra Club.
He is survived by his loving daughter Brenda Lee Allen, of Woonsocket, his sister, Bessie Chattman, brother in law Wallace Wilson, sisters in law Ulersee Allen,and Doris Wilson. godchildren Linda Farrow, Clemon W. Allen, and Somers Wilson, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Jimmy also was the brother of the late Willie Allen and Johnie Allen.
A Funeral Home Service will be held on Thursday evening December 5, 2013 at 7 P.M. in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are from 6-7 P.M. Burial will be on Friday at 10 A.M. in Union Cemetery.
